    AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named enlisted men :

CORPORAL REGINALD J. BAYONA SANDERSON, RA2915619, Army Medical Service, Medical Company, 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 31 March 1951, near Pochon, Korea, as Company "L", 65th Infantry was attacking enemy positions, Corporal BAYONA SANDERSON, a platoon aid man, fearlessly dashed forward under heavy enemy fire to administer first aid to a wounded soldier. After carrying the stricken man to safety, he again returned into the intense enemy fire to assist in evacuating other casualties and to recover their weapons and equipment. Corporal BAYONA SANDERSON'S heroism and selfless devotion to his duty reflect great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
