    AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL  - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named enlisted men :

PRIVATE FIRST CLASS GODOFREDO LEBRON RODRIGUEZ, ER30419454, Army Medical Service, Medical Company, 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 17 December 1950, in the vicinity of Tong-ni, Korea, Private LEBRON RODRIGUEZ, without regard for his personel safety, volunteered to evacuate a wounded soldier from a platoon across the river which was under attack by the enemy. With two other soldiers, he took a litter jeep and proceeded across the river. The jeep was fired on by the enemy and his two comrades were wounded. Private LEBRON RODRIGUEZ returned the fire and distracted the enemy from his comrades enabling them to reach a safe position. He was unable to leave and as a result spent five hours in the icy waters of the river. The heroism of Private LEBRON RODRIGUEZ reflects great credit on himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
