GENERAL ORDERS - NUMBER 176  5 June 1951

AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named enlisted men :

PRIVATE FIRST CLASS LADISLADO ARMIJO FELEMON, RA19296527, Infantry, Company "K", 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 6 December 1950, in the vicinity of Majon-Dong, Korea, a portion of the first platoon was cut off when Company "K" was attacked by a large enemy force. With no regard for his own safety and despite heavy enemy fire, Private ARMIJO FELEMON took a message to the company commander, informing him of the situation. Returning to the platoon, he then voluntarily accompanied the platoon leader in charging through the enemy force to reach the beleaguered portion of the platoon. After helping two wounded soldiers to the command post where they could be given first aid, Private ARMIJO FELEMON assisted in organizing the remainder of the platoon and in leading a sucessful counterattack against the enemy. Private ARMIJO FELEMON's heroism and devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from the State of New Mexico.
