AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named officers and enlisted men :

PRIVATE FIRST CLASS PABLO J. FALCON SILVA, ER30450533, Infantry, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 26 April 1951, the 2d Battalion, 65th Infantry was attacked by a numerically superior enemy force in the vicinity of Ilbisang-ni, Korea. The enemy successfully secured the commanding terrain surrounding the command post and isolated it from the rest of the battalion. During the ensuing action the ammunition supply was becoming seriously low, and the enemy was preparing for the final assault. Displaying courage and initiative, private FALCON SILVA moved from his protected position and ran to the ammunition dump. Despite the heavy barrage of hostile fire, he made repeated trips to replenish the ammunition supply. Private FALCON SILVA'S heroic actions materially contributed to the final rout of the enemy and reflect the highest credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
