GENERAL ORDERS - NUMBER 127  8 May 1951

AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL  - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named enlisted men :

PRIVATE JULIO MAYSONET, ER30428658, Infantry, Company "H", 65th Infantry 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 28 February 1951, near Chamchen, Korea, Private MAYSONET'S unit was forced to withdraw from its positions by heavy enemy machine gun and mortar fire. With complete disregard for his own personal safety, Private MAYSONET returned to the position to carry one of his wounded comrades to safety. He also returned a second time to the fire blanketed area to help retrieve a recoilless rifle and move it to a new position from where fire could be directed against the enemy. The courage and devotion to duty displayed by Private MAYSONET reflect great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
