CAPTAIN ROBERT A. WANN, 01303235, Infantry, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 26 March 1951, the 1st Battalion was in the attack with the mission to destroy all enemy forces in the vicinity of Chickchon-ju, Korea. During the advance, Captain WANN, Battalion Executive Officer, was entrusted with the task of supplying the unit with ammunition. In an attempt to locate a route into the battalion's position in the mountains, he personally organized and led a patrol beyond the unit's forward elements and located a route through the enemy lines.
