GENERAL ORDERS - NUMBER 105  14 April 1951
 

    AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL  - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named officers and enlisted men :

CORPORAL SANTOS RUBERTE, RA30419320, Infantry, Company "C", 65th Infantry 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 21 December 1950, in the vicinity of Hungnam, Korea, while manning a listening post with two other men Corporal RUBERTE observed enemy troops advancing toward the company's position. He estimated the number of troops and reported their movements to the company commander. He remained at his post adjusting mortar and artillery fire on the enemy until he was ordered to withdraw to the company lines. He did not leave  his listening post until it was directly assaulted by the enemy and he had to find his way back, killing two enemy soldiers. The alertness and courage displayed by Corporal RUBERTE proved to be a decisve factor in the successful repulse of the enemy attack. The actions of Corporal RUBERTE reflect great credit on himself and the military service. Entering the military service from Puerto Rico.
