AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named officer and enlisted men :

PRIVATE FIRST CLASS TOMAS DE JESUS ADORNO, ER12308028, Army Medical Service, Medical Company, 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 23 April 1951, near Onsu-Dong, Korea, the Third Platoon of Company "E" was attacked by a strong hostile force. Private DE JESUS ADORNO, attached to Company "E" as an aidman, frequently exposed himself to enemy fire in order to go to the assistance of a number of wounded comrades. When he learned that the platoon's ammunition supply was nearly exhausted, he volunteered to accompany several other enlisted men in an effort to procure more ammunition. Despite the increasing intensity of the hostile fire, he successfully returned with an ample supply of ammunition. Private DE JESUS ADORNO'S heroic and aggressive actions under fire enabled the platoon to withstand the enemy attack and reflect the highest credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from the State of New York.
