On 19 November 1950, in the vicinity of Tasgoni, Korea, Sergeant MALDONADO was attached as an aid man to an infantry company, which was attacked by a large enemy force. Completely disregarding his own safety and exposing himself to strong enemy fire, Sergeant MALDONADO boldly moved forward and administered first aid to several critically wounded comrades. Some time elapsed before the wounded could be evacuated from the area and despite adverse conditions of terrain and weather, he continued to give comfort and alleviate the soldiers' suffering. Sergeant MALDONADO'S display of heroism and outstanding devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
